About Patrick Brink
Patrick Brink teaches trumpet and piano at Kingwood Music School. He is also a professor at Lone Star College-Kingwood and Weatherford College (outside of Ft. Worth), where he teaches jazz improvisation and electronic music and serves as co-director of jazz ensembles each week.
As a recording artist, Patrick is heard on various albums with the Old 97’s, Nick Durham, the Boston Latin Band, and the late tenor saxophone legend Jerald Gray (BB King). Over the years, he has appeared with Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Joe Sample (Crusaders), Otis Day, the Hollywood Jazz Orchestra, the Las Vegas Big Band, and the Houston Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Patrick composes music for independent film and television, and his work has premiered on local access stations in Los Angeles and Amsterdam, WFMT – Chicago, WGBH (PBS) in Boston, and the Food Network with Chef Tyler. He holds baccalaureate degrees in performance and music education from Texas Tech University, the Bachelor of Music in film scoring from Berklee College of Music, and the Master of Music in jazz studies from the University of North Texas. He holds recognition from Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society, the Fender-Rhodes Educational Foundation, and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. Patrick is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the International Trumpet Guild, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Texas Jazz Educators Association, and The Independent Film Composers Guild.
